Either I’m completely oblivious to society or Marabelle’s reputation is just breaking the surface of the fashion industry. I stumbled across this brand while on Gilt Groupe this morning (a regular morning routine for me) and instantly wanted everything by Marabelle! Not only was it so affordable (most pieces under 100 dollars) but the colors were so vibrant, fun and flattering.
I loved how the outfits gave a more upscale feel to a beachy type of look. Spring is my favorite season because I have developed quite the obsession with little bright/floral Spring dresses. I love pairing them with ankle booties and round sunglasses. I also love how this designer pays close attention to detail when it comes to the choice of what prints, fabric and overall style to implement into each piece of clothing.
My personal favorite dress by Marabelle is this “Silverlake Peasant Dress” located in the middle of my collage. I love the high neck, silk fabric and shape of the dress and how it scrunches around the waist making it accessible to bodies of all sizes. The color palette used to make this dress is spectacular in my opinion. Everyone knows I love purple (lavender to be specific), but adding navy and light blue to the mix makes for a lovely, eye popping look that compliments your skin tone, eyes and hair color. I would pair this dress with little booties or even strappy sandals. This dress is wearable day AND night.
More pictures to come, but for now have a great Thursday…until next time
Clover Canyon caught my eye a couple of months ago but I was reminded of how much I love their original printed clothes this weekend when I stopped by Fred Segal on Melrose. I first came across a sleeveless tight dress with a vibrant print that I was dying to try on until I felt the fabric: it was the same material as a wet suit aka it was going to be very tight and potentially unflattering. I couldn’t have been more wrong! The dress was in fact tight fitting but hug my body in a way that made me feel sexy and comfortable at the same time.
I think it’s pretty accurate to assume that I’m going through a phase where prints are dominating my wardrobe and Clover Canyon is the perfect enabler! Their designs and color choices are so innovative that it is of no surprise that the garments are cut, sewn, designed and patterned in-house.
I absolutely love brands like Clover Canyon that push me out of my comfort zone and challenge me to try something new. I realized this weekend while taking photos with my mom that sometimes it’s not about the clothing items, accessories or shoes you are wearing, but its how you present them. Some of my favorite bloggers post occasionally post looks that make me think “wow, I wouldn’t have combined those pants with that shirt…” but the way they carry themselves and the way they look so confident, head strong and cool makes ALL the difference. “Clover Canyon is a celebration of Beauty”-that is how they describe themselves and I couldn’t agree more!
